Which is the best European city for a weekend break?

 

 

Challenge:

 

You are going be working in pairs to produce an itinerary with costs for a weekend break in a European city.  You are starting from Scotland.

You have to find the place on the map, work out how to get there and back, find and cost accommodation, plan some sightseeing, an evening out and restaurant menus, plus environment in the area. You will produce a presentation with costs included. You have an unlimited budget so you can choose the best hotels, restaurants, entertainments that your city has to offer.

 

Once everyone has researched their city, you will prepare presentation on your trip. The class will decide which of the trips on offer they would most like to go on.  You will have 2 lessons do the research, one lesson to complete your presentation and in the 4th lesson you will present to the class to choose.

 

Focus questions:

  • Where is your city?
  • How will you get there? And back?
  • Where will you stay while you are there?
  • What are the main sights in the city?
  • Where are you going to eat in the evening?
  • What sort of entertainment could you go and see?
  • What are the interesting features of the surrounding area?

  • It is fully costed
